19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's initial trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
